Evening and Weekend Appointments

Evening and Weekend Appointments

More Convenient Access to GP Services

We understand that it can be difficult to attend appointments during standard working hours. To help make healthcare more accessible, our Primary Care Network (PCN) offers evening and weekend appointments for routine consultations and selected healthcare services.

Whether you work full-time, have caring responsibilities, attend school or college, or simply need greater flexibility, these extended access appointments provide more choice and convenience.

How Extended Access Works

Evening and weekend appointments are shared across the three practices within our PCN. Appointments are offered on a rotating basis, meaning clinics may take place at different practice sites depending on the day and time of your appointment.

Patients registered at any of the three PCN practices can be offered an appointment at one of the participating sites:

  • The Leys Health Centre
  • Temple Cowley Health Centre
  • Donnington Health Centre

Appointment Availability

Extended access appointments are available:

- Weekday evenings

- Saturday mornings

Appointment times and locations vary and are subject to availability.

What Can Be Booked?

The types of appointments available during evenings and weekends vary depending on clinician availability and service capacity.

Appointments may include:

- GP consultations

- Medication reviews

- Nurse appointments

- Long-term condition reviews

- Health checks

- Minor Illness appointments

Not all appointment types are available at every extended access clinic. Our reception team will advise you on the most appropriate appointment and location based on current capacity.

 How to Book

To book an evening or weekend appointment, please:

- Contact the practice reception team during opening hours

- Use online services where available

- Speak to a member of staff about the most appropriate appointment for your needs

Our team will be happy to discuss the available options and help you find a convenient appointment time.

 Need Urgent Medical Help?

Evening and weekend appointments are intended for pre-booked, routine care and are not an emergency service.

If you need urgent medical help when the practice is closed:

- Visit NHS 111 online or call 111

- Call 999 in a life-threatening emergency

We Are Here for You

We are committed to providing accessible, patient-centred care. By working together across our PCN, we are able to offer additional appointments outside normal opening hours and improve access to care for our patients.
